Helpful Hints

When the time has come to once again raise much needed funds for your good cause , how often do you ask yourself some of these questions.

  • Who will help me?
  • Who can I ask for help?
  • How will I approach them without scaring them away with the task we have to achieve?
  • Will my colleagues feel pressured and back off from helping?

Here are some useful statements extracted from testimonials received from very satisfied fundraisers.

Head Teacher
I find asking my staff and enthusiastic parent helpers to sell not a carton or a case, but a few small boxes of Fudge or Toffees has a much greater success rate for participation. Once you have agreement a small carton of 10 individual boxes can be handed out to everyone involved with greater acceptance. Fantastic for the community spirit.

Charity Administrator
We find in our charity people are more inclined to help with fundraising, if they are able to stay within their own comfort zone. Shaking a can or approaching strangers for a donation can be off putting and can be more damaging for future help, that is why we use the Fudge and Toffee fundraiser, all of our staff and volunteers can take just a few small boxes home and sell them to their immediate family and friends, without apprehension. This exercise becomes more of an enjoyable- social and fun event each time we do it. We have found working the fundraiser this way has encouraged more activity from those not normally associated with fundraising duties.

Youth Group Leader
On asking one of my members who he would sell his 10 small boxes of fudge too, he replied I don’t need to sell them sir, I already know who will buy them from me, I'm sure I will need more. He was right by the time he approached his mother , grandmother and a couple of friends he had sold out.
